Keko announces ‘Love From Venus’ release Date | Will she then take a break?

After a few rounds of talk here and there that the talented rapper, Keko was to resign from the music industry  few weeks and a month ago, Keko breaks silence with LFV info. The at least promised Mix tape Love From Venus is to be released 2nd June  then her resignation might be official. The make you dance and Ready Singer  shared information and artwork on social media which pointed to  the release of the Tape at Gatto Matto.

KEKO resigning? NOT

As the rapper had declared a couple of weeks ago, “After Love from Venus i will take a break” to do other things, personal as they seem to be. The Internet was convinced (before she made this statement on Sanyu FM) that she was retiring for good. No gimmicks we think the break actually happened and she is back “like she left” announcing a full event to release the tape which will most likely feature  Msinde and Komwyewo  FT St Nelly Sade.

For Now All Eyes on LFV and whether it is leyyygo or not should be a matter of the next future after the release.

“No Apologies Will be a 12 Track EP”- AJO [see Track List]

AJO is set to release his No Apologies EP (as am writing 14 days from now), and will be his second full length release, it is to serve as a follow-up of his debut Mixtape Rap Music I Sing / RMIS. The mixtape had a number of tracks  that got utmost rotation especially Back Down Ft Lethal and Hannz Tactiq. He Featured a number of known artists like Lethal, Hannz, O.P.U, So Severe (on What do I rap For), and others on that project which gave him a clear sphere to push on with his raw talent. This seems like a solo project but well guest appearances from Akongo, Essie and Nina MC are to be expected.

The EP will have 12 tracks including the Intro

Now on No Apologies just like RMIS he dedicated his time and work to have his EP worked on by one sole studio, Port Bell drive Music. RMIS was 90 % babied from Yego Productions. This said has given AJO  a chance to explore new sounds and approaches to his career, with various producers on this project including Nase Avatar, Alz, and others. For now we can listen to Kamikaze (which was a popular song released last year and a video shot for ) and Freak A free style as we wait for the whole project to drop on 18th May, 2016. * Date was changed to 27th May, 2016*

Track list

1. Intro
2. No Apologies ft Essie (Prod. Alz Analytical & Nxcco)
3. Kamikaze (Prod. Nase Avatar & Martin-UrbanAksent)

Klear Kut bounces back hard on Let It Rain

The super group finally has put out one for their fans which is a great sign of the materializing Album together as a group. (According to UrbanHype, Beast Mode has Let It Rain as the official single). Klear Kut known for its ground breaking projects like Mind Body Soul and trend setting craft together grace this single with  ferocious lines aimed at probably alerting every one of their recollection.

The song is produced by Papito and mixed and mastered by Samurae which of course has the expected Klear Kut sound that of course will remind you of All I wanna Know. (If you don’t get it, I mean samples define most of KUT’s craft). However it’s not the usual and typical flow type you will get which Papito, LangMan and JB discussed with Ninja Felix of The Tribe UG in an interview prior to the release.

God let it rain God let it rain

God let it rain, Straight into ma Bank account

To prove a point of being the best this track is that, and not just being the best without the Hustle it is an appeal of a hardworking person entreating the Lord to answer back after putting in work and having Navio on the hook to create that atmosphere.

“Krazy will be dropping next Thursday 10 March”-Rodney

Rodney hinted on this single last week on the NuveyLIVE Podcast|Hip Hop Uganda Live, Episode 7 which featured him and Race T as they shared their stories. It was a humbling experience for us hosting the two young Christian rappers. That said earlier on today Rodney took to his Facebook to announce the release date for Krazy produced by Gamit/Joe Beats which of course he gave details of the track last week if you listened to our podcast.

He says ” it’s a nice track” which is still one of those that are about fun derived positively in the lord.

Krazy will be a follow-up of TBT which was a success full Christian turn up song for him and the less we should eagerly wait for this specific one.

H.A.B.O drops Visuals for M.O.N.A (Minister Of Nocturnal Affairs) title track

Ntinda must be proud of its very own H.A.B.O (also written as HABO) upon this release of M.O.N.A. After a successful year for the Ntinda Movement best known as NTM and also Ntinda rappers who are not so affiliated to the concrete movement, NTM. The power balance obviously was snatched from Rubaga for the whole year everybody knows it. With projects such as Side Ze’eno and the NTM Cypher which feature H.A.B.O him self gave the suburban town the appeal it sought for.

H.A.B.O dropped M.O.N.A his debut tape which features the title track, Minister Of Nocturnal Affairs produced by Sliq Teq. The visuals are an expression of the wild and hippy life style that this bold  rapper paints in his music and a raw cut of probably the chill time of an average Ntida-ian. Appearances from Mickey Solo, Pryce and Sliq Teq among other, hint on the tight squad-man-ship of these rappers even though accepting H’s fashion sense may be some thing of later discussion. The idea of nocturnal-ism is still something to ponder about more even though the after lights idea is made possible with the haze and its clear to realize that. (hoping to get him to discuss it)

Well conceptualized, Enjoy!!!

@NuveySHAWN celebrates one year of The SunSet N’counter Mixtape and born day with ‘Poetry Isn’t Misery’ snippet

It is one year today since  The SunSet N’counter Mixtape was released by  NuveySHAWN  aka Ayella N. Robert (Chief Blogger here at NuveyLIVE, poet, occasional rapper and Teacher) on his birthday last year 28-02-2015 which served as his Debut tape and introduction to recording music for a wider audience. The mixtape had one successful single R.H.O.D.A. STATE which got its first spin on MisterDeejay’s Saturday Mix Show on Radiocity 97 FM. The tape according to SHAWN “was more of an experimental project which had him experiment and experience with different sounds including classic Pop, Rock and other all fused to form the body of work.”

The mixtape commonly hash-tagged by him as #TSN had 16 tracks including the Outro,  Inner View which is actual  interview with his long-term friend Anonymous that was never theorized actually actually inspired later on the formation of NuveyLIVE and the podcast HUL.

TSN was also a point NuveySHAWN was proving to himself and this explains  why he released the work on his birthday , which to him was celebrating growth in all spheres of his life and therefore to show a continuous growth and development he released a teaser or snippet of Poetry Isn’t Misery. The snippet is part of the SHAWNESDAY project which is a compilation of 85 % spoken word performances or poetic tracks. He first performed this poem about four months ago at a Poetry Night at Makerere University’s Art Gallery which i watched him perform vibrantly and of course we were surprised that he put out a snippet today.

The poem that in synced with punk-rock influenced and inspired sounds from the instruments is uniquely a new sound you will expect from SHAWN and therefore this might be an indicator of completion of  SHAWNESDAY : My Evenings With You Compilation or #SMEWY.

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#UGDecides: Ugandans make a lot of great music-NAVIO on the need for Peaceful Elections

As the country UGANDA is only counting down a few hours to the highly anticipated and overrated elections of the Presidential candidates and Members of parliament (tomorrow 18th February, 2016) , country-wide messages of peace have been asked for by many stake holders and peace-loving entities. The circumstances of violence are not lovely at all and therefore would affect the climate in the country that includes investment, education and other fields. According the a report by African bank the entertainment industry has a potential to employ more youth who are highly unemployed.

You can then agree more with Navio’s argument or view. If you relate with that report and Mr. The Chosen you find the need for peace which if tampered with might see us come short of the benefits which include making of good music. As a rapper he embodies the voice of many involved in the field that himself is.

We  wish you a free and fair election for whichever candidate you vote with peace and integrity.

St Nelly Sade sells 1000 copies of ‘Stories of Elevation-Omulondo n’engero’

St Nelly Sade took to his social media account (FB) the great news, having sold 1000 copies of Stories of Elevation also known as Omulondo n’engero. The album which was released last year (2015) on 20 February  had amazing tracks that contributed to his continued satisfaction of Ugandan ears that demand for stories by real story tellers. The hip hop heads of course will use statements like ” he is a great lyricist”. Definitely and an amazing story-teller! The 18 track album has continued to set the bar as one of best organic and well-stretched luga flow albums in the country so far( this doesn’t mean Koi Koi and Ziva Muntuuyo by GNL and Sylvester are not in mind)

The album that features rappers such as The Mith, Patrobas, Moth, Agee and singers such as Sonny Sowez is highly relate-able that it selling 1000 copies might have been a long wait. That is if you consider the packaged content (music). But well finally that’s another win for hip hop and we hope to keep score of units like this. The Bwosumagira singer besides making some bucks off his creative work S.O.E is also nominated in the Galaxy Fm powered Zzina Awards.

New Video| ‘Honarable Muuki’ by Survivor ft Tracy Noel is a Satire well delivered

The sinister actions of a number of politicians on this one has been manipulated to form the subject matter of this track by Survivor (veteran rapper now rapporter with NTV News Beat) ft Tracy Noel. On a Koz N Effekt beat Survivor raps in a persona of a politician who is corrupt, in human and indifferent wait these must mean the same thing so I will let you add to the list actually! We all know elections are around the corner this satirical piece is the perfect edutaining song we need as a follow-up of Fit to Lead by George.

The video has Survivor giving us a caricature of the greedy politicians and there motives in a voice that is in confession, you would think we should pity them since politicians have problems like the need to cater for their wives and mistresses. He raps in Luganda but good enough the subtitles are provided. Tracy on this song acts as the ridiculing voice that completes the satire to bring to our attention that Honorable ( any politician out there abusing office) is not representing the people but himself or personal goals.

The video has garnered about 1k view in two days! It is pretty hilarious to watch, but isn’t that what a satirical piece of work is made of ?
