“No Apologies Will be a 12 Track EP”- AJO [see Track List]

AJO is set to release his No Apologies EP (as am writing 14 days from now), and will be his second full length release, it is to serve as a follow-up of his debut Mixtape Rap Music I Sing / RMIS. The mixtape had a number of tracks  that got utmost rotation especially Back Down Ft Lethal and Hannz Tactiq. He Featured a number of known artists like Lethal, Hannz, O.P.U, So Severe (on What do I rap For), and others on that project which gave him a clear sphere to push on with his raw talent. This seems like a solo project but well guest appearances from Akongo, Essie and Nina MC are to be expected.

The EP will have 12 tracks including the Intro

Now on No Apologies just like RMIS he dedicated his time and work to have his EP worked on by one sole studio, Port Bell drive Music. RMIS was 90 % babied from Yego Productions. This said has given AJO  a chance to explore new sounds and approaches to his career, with various producers on this project including Nase Avatar, Alz, and others. For now we can listen to Kamikaze (which was a popular song released last year and a video shot for ) and Freak A free style as we wait for the whole project to drop on 18th May, 2016. * Date was changed to 27th May, 2016*

Track list

1. Intro
2. No Apologies ft Essie (Prod. Alz Analytical & Nxcco)
3. Kamikaze (Prod. Nase Avatar & Martin-UrbanAksent)
4. Aphrodite ft Akongo (Prod. Nase Avatar)

Tha C.y.P.h.A – Bon.B, NuveySHAWN, Golddust, Anonymous(G2 Complex), AJO(CBM) & I-M Music

Tha CyPhA is a collaborative project  produced and directed by Mento-X, real names Mugarura Denis Robinson of G2 Complex and he introduces  Bon-B, NuveySHAWN, Gold Dust and Annonymous all from G2 Complex, AJO (Clean Block Music) and I-M Music’s producers Delaru and Kodan whose first appearance as rappers is documented by this cypher. The project released March 26 at 8:33pm  is a representative of the hoods the various contributors to the raw and edgy sound that Mento-X took charge to materialize into something. In the order of appearance the emcees Bon-B(Kititantale), NuveySHAWN(Luzira/Biina), Delaru(Mutungo), AJO(Mbuya/Mutungo), Gold Dust(Kitintale), Kodan(Mutungo) and Anonymous(kitintale) show off their lyrical dexterity and give a glimpse of their hunger and unheard voices.

I-M Music’s out fit (Delaru and Kodan) explore their Itesot flow complemented with Swahili and english to give their sound a distinctive marker and an indicator of diversity for the total project all together. AJO and Gold Dust take the hyper angry route showing their hoods energies lyrically. Bon-B and NuveySHAWN (also a blogger here) take the calm but insightful take which is re-echoed by Anonymous (who doubles as a manager of G2 Complex and has worked with a number of producers including Andy Music, Notsy) as a wrap up of the main intention the project was in the first place thought of.

“Redefinition with a motion”

G2 Complex has projects in maturing like the Video to Tha Cypha set to be released in around 15 April and NuveySHAWN who is wrapping up with his SHAWNESDAY compilation a follow-up to his Debut Mixtape TSN. AJO (From Clean Block Music) who is a good college to the Complex artists is set to release his EP No apologies in May of this year, which is a follow-up to Rap Music I Sing a mixtape that featured Hannz Tactiq, Lethal, OPU and others. Bon-B and Gold Dust have unreleased projects.

Tha C.y.P.h.A is well packaged with a crisp taste of clear and informative messages embedded in the voices of these rappers who hope to dominate respectfully and are so distinct in their approach as they deliver.

Kitintale, Luzira and the dominant Mutungo will be hopefully represented appropriately just like Rubaga, Bukoto and Ntinda.

It is a year today since Ajo’s Debut Mixtape RMIS was released- Happy Anniversary CBM!

wpid-rap-music-i-singart-work.png.pngLast year today ( 2nd February 2015) marks the day AJO of Clean Block Music (CBM) released his debut mixtape that had good rotation in its first week of release on a number of  radio stations prior to  and after the release. Rap Music I Sing aka RMIS had an important feature Back down with veteran rapper Lethal and Hanz Tactiq both known for contributing to Uganda’s music industry. It hit the charts as number one on Hot 100 which makes it his most craved for single.

The mix tape in total was produced, recorded and mastered at Yego by JT for most of the tracks like Trip, Recognize, Impossible and Victim. His efforts aimed at introducing us to  the raw lyrical prowess that he has worked on ever since primary six which he confesses on one of his tracks –Recognize.

Last week i got in touch with him and he gave me highlights of his EP No Apologies and he said, ” It is under construction, Nase is still working on tracks like Aphrodite and uh Kamikaze visuals are ready. Em just waiting for the appropriate time” He surely has so much going on to follow his debut mixtape. I watched the final work on Kamikaze video, i must say wait for the splendid visuals!

‘It would be more inspiring AJO if you released a project this month’ i hoped to tell him.

In case you didn’t get to hear the mixtape it is at the bottom of this paragraph and important tracks on that tape are: Back down, Victim, Recognize, Trip and Impossible for that’s where he has his best performance as a lyricist.

Hope you recognize

Here is something to UnRap: AJO(@Ajojam) releases ‘Freak A Freestyle’-The last 2015 Gift for All this Fans(Free Download)

Honestly the last month of the year 2015 this time round has been quite fruitful; with Navio releasing The Chosen,12 December Pryce Teeba releasing Kambajulire  23 Dec and as i am writing the 13 annual HipHop Summit is on today 26 Dec.
Ariong J. Oscar aka AJO as well has something in the box for his fans to unrap[Unwrap]_ as a way of thanks giving and appreciation of the long journey from Rap Music I Sing (his debut mixtape) to so far No Apologies ( current Project with two singles out).

On this one AJO is quite relaxed  (and yet not to be taken lightly despite the mellow he carries most that suits the festivus anyway) if you know his energy on Kamikaze, Trip, impossible and Victim. Better yet he is proving a point lyrically. The beat by Alz allowS him to slide thru with insightful views. That is to say he is unapologetic-why? For releasing good music and going hard for the game , which is what is needed not “Bruce Jenner rappers”.

Freak A Freestyle in a sec:
Freak A Freestyle ByAjo produced by Analytical Alz. Freak a freestyle is a song/freestyle that Ajo has chosen to close the year 2015 with. This song which first started off as a freestyle but due to quality issues later transformed into a song is now the second project released off my upcoming E.P, “No Apologies”.

It should be noted that it’s not the second official single off this E.P, as Aphrodite which features Akongo of PortBell Drive will be officially released in January 2016 alongside the Kamikaze Music video, but it is rather  a sort of interlude off the E.P.
Freak a Freestyle is a high energy song and follows the theme of No Apologies but also follows a song theme of Myth and mystery. It’s a showcase of lyrical agility and flow diversity.
Produced by Analytical Alz at Portbell drive music, the beat scheme is a low tone and mood-mellow.

Top Hip-Independence Day play list tracks (Independence Day Play list)

First of all happy independence day to every body, Ugandan out of the country and is reppin the country through hiphop and Poetry we salute you.

That aside we came up with a list of tracks that we believe inspire us into Loving Ugandan hiphop music and poetry as well. Based in no systematic order.

So Ug by The Mith, this song was released a few years ago and inspired the slogan So UG , hashtag #SoUg followed and so much.

256-PATROBAS it would be a crime to forget this one infact i chose to have the video linked here. When i was asked who Patrobas is a year ago by someone who was inquistive about UG music i told this person “he is that ‘coming out of the 256 guy’ you know the guy” well explaining was hars.

256 is one of those hiphop songs that elevate you into liking to engrave the pearls area code on your back or chest. The spittin on this track was some type away.
Watch below:

Kyendi kyendi-Sylvester n Abramz. This was a sensational song in the mid 2000s that entailed self awareness. The title is a luganda phrase that means I am who i am for that reason we are Ugandan and a hiphop loving country too.(audio below is the remix )

FREEDOM-Ruyonga ft Mo-Roots & The Sphynx not so long ago Ruyonga released his Victory Music project that featured this song, it is still fresh as it sounds poetic as well.

Home Town-AJO it is off AJO’s debut mixsape Rap Music I Sing which is a favorited song to many. The energy on the song is so remarkable as he uplifts his home town kumi. One thing about this song is that it represents the urban life loving Ugandan.

Nva Ntinda-St Nelly Sade this track justifies the fact that rappers are  still proud of their towns and are willing to represent where they are from. The Lyricist paints a picture of his beloved Ntinda(a kampala suburb)
Ps all Songs about Ntinda we recognise them too.

NGALO (HANDS UP)NAVIO yes put your hands up for Ugandas independence and think about the 2009-12s a time when Ugandan hiphop was on a  steady fast rise.

Side zeno- Pryce Teeba Many may want to dispute however whats a celebration without a tune to get you in motion. This song was released about three months ago and has continued to make many love their music and infact Ugandan hiphop.

There is so much Ugandan hip hop out there and we cant satisfy there is more that makes you feel so Ugandan. And for a matter of clarity Listen to Futuristic Past by S T R A P the whole album has Uganda thrown here and there. The Review is coming soon though.
Listen here Strap is a Ugandan rapper based in The US, Kansas.

AJO shares some Knowledge on Facebook for artists to Reflect on

Known for his lyrical prowess and raw content AJO a rapper based in kampala with Kumi running in his blood woke up today to share a message that most artists need to acknowledge.

The kamikaze singer came out to say that there are artist who hope to force every one into liking their music and forget criticism is a natural thing to happen to any ones art.

One grieve mistake we make as music Artists is
the belief that our music has to be loved by
default. I see alot of my comrades get so
personal and trigger happy whenever a
negative comment is made about their music,
we aint Gods that means we cant make
uncritisizable music, add also ive seen my
comrades force people to love their music by
mere fact that they are music artists being the
reason, this is so immature and illogical, just
do yo best and let it ressonate with the
audience thats the only way to go about it.
